Taking on a New Line of Work

I used to work in a factory and figured I would be doing that job until I retired. When the factory closed, I was left without a job and had to find some way to make ends meet. I heard about some financial services jobs in Bristol and applied for some of them, but never got a response. A friend of mine told me that I might have more luck getting a job if I went to one of the recruitment agencies that help people get in touch with the people that are offering jobs. I figured that this was a good idea and I had nothing to lose by trying it, so I found an agency online and submitted my information to them.

After a few days, I got a response from one of the companies that were working with the agency. They noticed my resume and wanted me to come in for an interview. I dusted off by best suit, got a new haircut and went right in to make my case to the company. I thought I had a pretty good interview with them. I made good points and made myself look confident. After that, I waited for a response from them about whether I had gotten the job or not. This was the longest wait I had ever faced.

The company called me back and told me that I had gotten the job and wanted me to start on Monday. I told them that I would be looking forward to coming into work that day. It’s funny that someone who was used to working in a factory was able to get a job in a completely different line of work. I don’t really care if the settings of the job change, as long as I can make money, I’ll like it.
